Oliver is the first-born prince of the kingdom of Kalopsia. All was going well for the prince, until the eve of his 20th birthday, when his younger brother, Eli, attacked him and the crown with a plot to steal the kingdom for himself. Having barely survived this betrayal, Prince Oliver is left to wander in the dangerous woods of West Festeria. Now, lost and newly blinded, Oliver finds himself in the hands of a night-shift vigilante, Ember.
