Kaiya, a fire-gift, performs at one of the village's ancient festivals. But unbeknownst to her, this event will change the course of history, forever. Catching the attention of the Emperor, she is pulled into the claws of the palace and spit out into the public eye. Aided by a handsome group of privateers, will Kaiya become the kingdom's much-needed face of a brighter future? Or will all of her endeavors go to waste upon the realization she is a mere pawn in someone else's game?
