Ray and her younger brother Thomas are on the living room floor playing chess when her mother gets the call that her father will be sentenced to 2 years in prison after getting sued. Her younger brother Thomas finds black and white Television while their mother was away. Ray becomes inspired by a talk show where a man says, "everything that will happen, has in some way already happened. The outcomes are never certain, but the direction is already decided."
