In a distant future, humanity has left old Earth in an exodus. They travel on an eternal voyage within a massive sleeping seedship called Birdcage. Apple, a cyborg girl raised by a reclusive Artificial Greater Intelligence, finds her quiet life in jeopardy as centuries old secrets slowly begin rousing the sleeping engines. Bestowed with the Seed, she and the companions she makes along the way, must rediscover forgotten memories and the hopes of those who vanished before they are lost forever.
