After a period of darkness where colonized planets live in isolation, light-years of travel separating them, a faster than light space ship appears. The technology thought lost since the death of Earth, humanity reunites and rejoices in a new golden age but this gold will tarnish. Planetary forces conspire to capture or copy the Blazer's technology. Two talented crewmembers from opposite ends of the galaxy meet aboard the Blazer and connect over their shared curiosity about the Blazer.
