A common sentiment about the Internet is that it can provide whatever information or idea you can imagine, no matter how obscure. This underlies such statements as, "there's a subreddit for everything," or "nothing is ever deleted from the Internet," or "Rule 34" - but I've grown quite resentful of this idea. Because it's not actually true. It's a promise that's been broken on countless occasions.
