In the hidden digital world of Syntaxa, only elite warriors called Players can see and battle Bugs, monstrous beings that devour and corrupt code. When ordinary NPC Kai inherits a dying Player's Flux Data, he awakens as a Player and discovers he possesses a mysterious Debug Code. Hunted by Bugs and a godlike former Player known as the Prime Host, Kai must gather the scattered fragments of a fallen Neural AI and decide whether to remain human or ascend into a god.
