In the simmering wake of Lucifer's calamity, and as part of the last generation hand-sculpted by the Gods, Iarsou faces the world alone. Fallen centuries ago, the Earth is no longer as new and wonderous as it once was. When he's finally targeted as a Trial opponent for an angel named Micah, vying for his position among the Archangels, his world is thrown into the chaos he thought he's left behind. Eventually, he manages to gain the favor of the angel sent to slay him.
