In 2076, massive beasts dubbed Kaiju invade the surface world. Humanity forms the Kaiju Defense Force and builds towering robots dubbed Bulwarks to stop them. Alec Callum is a failed mecha pilot candidate coping with the loss of his mother in a kaiju attack during his childhood. One day, when a powerful kaiju attacks the city, Alec is cut off from the evacuation but encounters a dragon-like entity that saves him from certain death. With his newfound powers, Alec sets out to uncover their origin.
