Imagine trying to be all cool with your long range message spell, only to pick the party idiot as the spell target. This skit worked on a player and character level. The player didn't realize that you should recognize the sending spell voice given that you know the person, and further he liked to play his rogue as a paranoid type, so he freaked out in-character when this happened.
