While Marigold and her family were migrating north for the summer she became separated during a storm after sacrificing herself to save her sister. She was flung into the vicious sea below. On the verge of death in the water with no way to swim or fly, a stranger saved her. Her savior, Angelica is a sea angel hybrid and possesses healing powers. When Marigold comes to she is washed up on shore, confused and disoriented she wonders how she could have possibly survived that.
