On the planet Ethra, animals have taken humanoid form and are in the majority. They are divided into two groups: Pure-breeds and hybrids. Zia Caddela is just a little hybrid girl when her parents mysteriously abandon her, and Zia knows that it’s her own fault. With them gone, Zia is forced to live with her abusive aunt and uncle. She believes that if she gets too close to anyone, they’ll abandon her. But this all changes when she connects the dots in her life and realizes there is evil lurking.
