A tragedy occurred in the east of Rune: a black fire destroyed a patrol camp, burying hundreds of loyal servants of the Emperor in the ashes. The only witness to these events was the healer, Elin Jane. In an attempt to escape the terrible memories, Elin fled to the western part of the country. However, there she was detained by interrogators who wanted her to tell them everything that had happened in the camp and relive the nightmarish day when she created forbidden magic.
