For a Few Years Jake is trying (and failing) to take control of his life. In a last ditch attempt to prevent himself from spiraling into loneliness due to being a 23 year old without friends, Jake tries to find a roommate who he won't; A) Sleep with OR B) Irritate to the point of leaving. When Ryan, a kind but closed off working stiff, becomes his roommate - the restrictions Jake put in place for himself begin to look more like suggestions.
