Sumier, a magicless human, sets off to become a knight to find his father, who left for knighthood many years ago but never returned. Soon he discovers his own journey but realizes he's bitten off more than he can chew when he's faced with many people that abandon sanity and reason. With the help of unlikely allies, he discovers shocking foes and finds answers in the worst places. Having to make a world-altering choice, he abandons his original goal for the impossible task of saving the world.
