Rose, a retired former military officer and widow, lives with her daughter, also a widow, and two grandchildren. She receives an offer from a friend to become a spy for the São Paulo government and help solve the growing case of people disappearing. She refuses this proposal, as she doesn't want to take any risks, after all, she has a family to take care of.
