While assisting a friend in her journey to a neighbouring city, Calyx Elsher becomes trapped in a fae contract that isn't supposed to exist. Thereafter entangled in the lives of his blind mistress, a worryingly familiar mermaid and a Porcelain dog, he is ordered to work with the group as a smuggler and sent down a dangerous journey of mystery, romance and self-revelation, which show him that everything has always been connected.
