Lawrence wakes up in a blank room containing only himself, a deer mask, and a being that calls themselves "Gyde." He's dead, and he knows that, but he can't remember anything about who he was before or how he died. Gyde tells him that the only way to move on is to figure his past out by projecting into the living world, lest he be doomed to stay trapped in purgatory and watch his mind rot away...
