Shortly after the crushing Roman defeat of battle of Allia in 378 b.C., the Gauls managed to infiltrate in Rome, primarily due to the Romans' lack of vigilance. But sacred geese of Juno sensed the stealthy intruders and started squawking loudly, which caused an immediate military response by the Romans, who were then able to fight off the Gauls.
