In need of the iron the people of a small medieval country build a mine in a large mountain, the mountain however houses a spirit who is angered by their actions and wants the ores who were taken from her to be returned. She imprisons their prince and won't return him until they bring back her belongings. Since the people have already made tools of it, they need to get new ore and therefore make use of complex alchemy to get it. No one makes it, but one day a young witch comes along.
