In this world children are either born with animal powers or gain personality based powers. But every 1,000 years a child is born slightly different. This child is born to normal human parents with personality based powers. People who gain their powers get them at the age of nine to eleven. But this rare child magically gains both kinds of powers. That's where we get Lilla.
