Vezva's mother made a deal with the black-eyed god. Her child in exchange for the life of her dead beloved. But at the last minute, she changed her mind, instead cursing her daughter with a strange gift to keep the dark god at bay after she's gone. Will Vezva be strong enough to wield it? Or will she give in to the pact that was promised? A dark "fairy tale" inspired by Slavic myth/folklore, told from the PoV of characters in the brutal world of Staragard as their stories cross.
