Present day Japan, we meet shy high school student Kimiko Mitsuko who passes her time drawing and hoping one day to become an artist. After an unfortunate situation, Kimiko is saved by tomboy Rin Tsukiko. On her way home after a day being with her new friend, Kimiko finds a beautiful fountain pen lying on the street. Kimiko thinks nothing of it, picks it up, and goes home to draw her new friend... but what happens to Rin overnight will alter their view on reality forever.
