Serenity was always skilled at doing what she loved- embroidery, academics, mannerism, and all sorts of things she was meant to do. But she never knew that it would grant her the position of the next empress next to the emperor. Both the emperor and Serenity have their own lives, and both were forced into this turmoil without a shred of consent. Maybe things aren't so bad as Serenity thought? Well, maybe her idea was wrong.
