Though born to a species known as Malnaki who are characterized by their endless hunger and favorable appetite of humans, Ren made the almost impossible decision to not only abandon this way of life and swear off the eating any and all humans, raise one as his own child after finding an orphaned baby alone in the forest. When another Malnaki comes along and threatens this child, Ren does not hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect her, no matter how high the stakes.
