Laney Pennington is an orphan who's obsessed with anime because she tried to fill the void left by the disappearance of her parents. One day, she gets the chance to become a magical girl in real life, but although she thinks her dream may have come true, things take a dark turn when she discovers the disappearance of her mother might be related to the battle between the magical forces she's been working for and the demons they've been fighting.
