M is downtrodden young man who is making his way in the aftermath of the Second Civil War by clearing houses haunted by malfunctioning AI. His steady life if upended when he is hired to travel across the war-torn country to find a young girl who has vanished. Is it a simple case of ransom? Or are there more sinister forces at work?
