Near Death follows the desperate journey of Prince Mansa and Queen Kanku to save their kingdom after the ancient sorcerer Esu and his "7 Days of Chaos" seize control of the Stone Kingdom by hypnotizing the King. Fleeing into exile, the mother and son locate the legendary, death seeking assassin Lee-Wa and, after much convincing, enlist his protection. This newly formed "Team Near Death" becomes the target of relentless pursuit, forcing them to travel from land to land as they battle Esu’s men.
