How do Humans Cope with Loss?

Last month, I took a long break from work because my younger pup - my chocolate labrador was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. It's a genetic condition - her liver and kidneys age at a double rate from birth. Although we caught it fairly early, I took it a little hard. But I'm back now and I want to continue drawing so I can tell my dogs' stories. =)
