Finn is the Chosen One. At least, that's what the prophecy said. Frankly, he's not too fond of prophecies. Of course, that doesn't matter, because whether he likes it or not, he's going to 'free the land from unspeakable evil.' But if Fate thinks that it can get him that easily, it'll have to think again.
