Sangkuriang, a mythical figure in Indonesian folklore, fell in love with Dayang Sumbi, unaware she was his mother. He promised to build a dam and a boat to prove his love. Dayang Sumbi cleverly stalled his efforts, weaving a cloth and challenging him to finish his tasks before dawn. Realizing his mother's identity, Sangkuriang kicked the unfinished boat, creating Mount Tangkuban Perahu.
