Joseph Campbell would describe this moment as the "Call to Adventure." If you're unfamiliar with Campbell, he was a literature professor best known for his book "The Hero With A Thousand Faces," which basically says that all stories are the same. I'm obviously over simplifying, but Campbell was hugely influential to George Lucas (both influences here :)
