Welcome back! Although the story is just getting started (and we haven't seen any fantasy/magic yet), I want to be clear that I'm taking a lot of liberties with history... for example, a Star of David necklace would be foreign and strange to these people. But it's such a great visual signifier, I felt I had to have Rivke wear one.
Also, the Anna Karenina stuff? Foreshadowing :)
