Ten years post the total decimation of planet Earth, Ayden Rostner finds herself stuck in a loop. Nothing quite seems right in her world. A human being does not belong off planet; that is just where she is - she's joined an intergalactic program by the name of Alpha-X, a missionary program harbored on a single ship. The planets Venus and Mars are bordering on war. The militia is corrupt. Her field partner is insufferable. As she would say it, "Maybe staying on Earth was the better choice."
