Can a vehicle's AI evolve from cold, logical reasoning to subjective thinking, and maybe human feeling? When the interstellar rover Promethean-1 crash-lands on a once-lush planet, her entire crew is captured by a network of powerful, intelligent AI - which has already decimated the planet's natives. The machines being extracting critical data from the brains of the human captives, including ship schematics and the way back to Earth. The Promethean-1's only logical choice is to kill the survivors.
