In a world where scientists decided to investigate what lies beyond death, they discovered places where the essence of humanity (their souls) was stored and encapsulated. Later, they managed to return that individual personality to the bodies. Since then, the government decided to form organizations (BASES) around the world that would send people to retrieve these capsules. These people would be called travelers.
