This is why Mizuko needed that extra speed: to get her special prayer out before the Headmaster could counter it with his own, and so she could hit him with Bane of the Broken Chain. I won't reveal everything that particular Bane does, but it IS the reason the Master Tower just cracked from the foundation upwards. And yes, it DOES hurt more than everything the Headmaster's already suffered.
