This story follows the protagonist Sora confronting the conflict within his heart in order to ‘ascend’. In this world, there is a ‘higher’ realm that the Gods preside over and in order to ‘ascend’ one must cleanse their heart of weakness. ‘Reflections’ represent different flaws and weaknesses in Sora’s heart and are manifested into enemies much like what you would see in mental image training. In this chapter, Sora confronts the final ‘reflection’ “Ren” the harbinger of sorrow.
