TOPMOOD man. I came out as trans to my mom at 15 and her response was basically "You just want attention and either way it would hurt m y feelings if you identify differently" and now I'm 16, deep in the closet while my parents are in denial, and desperate for the freedom that comes at 18. Somehow her discomfort with my identity is more important than my distress at being misgendered and I guess it's "disrespectful" to use a different name cause she picked my deadname especially for me. Figures.
