I think it's important to understand that, like victims, types of abusers run an entire spectrum and some may not even be self-aware. Sometimes it can be beneficial to try and understand them or convince them to seek counseling. Other times, it can only aggravate them more - especially if they suffer from narcissism. *Sigh* ...Humans are so complex.
