To terraform their new planet, survivors of the dead planet Baas visit Earth every few centuries to discretely collect compatible biological samples. They also adopt abandoned humans for both science and crew morale. When the Baasians visit modern Earth, the sudden rise in human technology surprises them. Suspicious of the internet, the landing party must rely on their latest adoptee, Charlie Schwitters, to navigate modern society and stay hidden.
