Mell Kinsley is a worthless, no good, burden of a son..... or, so he thinks. His parents tell him they aren't disappointed, but he knows they are deep down. They must be, having a magicless kid like him! It isn't like Mell even blames them, he just... wishes he had magic, like the rest of the family. That way, his parents wouldn't have to be so embarrassed about him all the time. Fortunately, Mell finds an illegal, centuries-old ritual that can grant him magic. Surely, this can only go well.
