I'm putting up sticky notes as a warning whenever I listen to music on noise cancelling headphones now. This way, boyfriend knows to approach me with care, big waving hand gestures and very, very loud hellos. Nothing makes you jump out of your skin like a friendly but silent giant suddenly appearing behind you and trying to give you a kiss.
