I've seen a lot of butterflies and monarchs migrate. I had thought about making the butterflies blue morphos since it one of the few blue animals found in nature, but monarchs fit his look he had in a previous episode. And I like to include some bit of reality in this fantasy comic- yes, this is in simple version on how caterpillars turn to butterflies/moths. It's way more complex than this though
