This book is based on a true story of SUNNI ALI Ber as the first king of the Songhai empire and had various victories by expanding his Songhai through capturing many cities such as Timbuktu in 1458 and Djenne in 1475. According to the Tarikh al-Sudan written history, Ali drowned while crossing the Niger river in 1492, while the oral tradition believes that he was killed by his sister's son, ASKIA MUHAMMAD TURE.
