Evalynn was the top royal mage, or ‘Talented’, general of the king’s armies and powerful enough to level cities to the ground. Now she is talentless with no power, hardly any allies, far too many enemies, and is supposed to die from her sudden loss of talent within the next year or two, one way or another. All she wants is to lead a peaceful retired life in the countryside. All that nearly everyone else wants is her head.
