It is not unusual to have one player actually investing thought into the game while the rest just want to roll dice and show how "awesome" they are at killing things. Tell the thinker to roll dice and everyone else suddenly grabs their dice and rolls too. Sometimes you have to throw in a basilisk to teach them a lesson.
