In an alternate world parallel to ours, during the 1900's, a new law is passed that decrees all Fire People will now serve the city as the seemingly endless winter draws longer. All the Fire People the guards could find were rounded up and sent to Forges, industrial basements meant to provide heat and life to the houses of the Lords and Ladies in charge. One of fire, one of noble blood, and one of both, our main characters follow a path of forbidden love and dangerous riots to fight for justice
