Literally every video I've watched on Dimetrodon starts by telling me that they are not actually dinosaurs, they're more closely related to us. Dimetrodon were non-mammalian Synapsids from the Permian (~295 -270 MYA). While most people know Dimetrodon as a large apex predator, many species were actually quite small. The smallest known species was D. Teutonis (~60cm long).
