in case you forgot: ger asked gin to contact the dae back in EP41, before running off to sam after her scream! but yeah, there we have it. lainey and caleb died because of their dae blood. as a matriarchy, caleb never held much power but he left it all behind for sam. the being that killed them through ger is referred to as just 'she' by both patch and ger. she's like the endgame boss.
